The Mongolian National Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) reported its work

The Mongolian National Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) was established in 2003.

Last year, (ICOM) held a board meeting to update its members, signed a cooperation contract with Chinggis Khaan National museum, also celebrated “International Museum Day” in the museum and held a discussion. 

(ICOM) Chairman of the board of directors of the National Committee of Mongolia D.Bumaa, Deputy Chairman and director of Choijin Lama Temple museum D.Otgonsuren (2024.05.01) reported research work, membership, work of ICOM, foreign cooperation, social-oriented works which implemented.

 International Council of Museums has 83 members and cooperates with 13 museums, Ministry of Culture, the Institute of History and Archeology (MAS), the National Center of Cultural Heritage, and the University of Mongolian State University of Arts and culture. 

To add to that, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) was first established in Paris, France in 1946 and now operates with 138 countries, 118 committees, and 32 international committees.
