ANNUAL TRAINING OF GUIDE-INTERPRETERS HAS SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED

The Chinggis Khaan National Museum, in collaboration with the Capital Tourism Department organized for the sixth time a training courses for tour guides and interpreters working in the tourism sector, conducting training in interpretation techniques based on history and cultural heritage, which will provide them with “CERTIFICARIONS FOR INTERPRETING IN THE NATIONAL MUSEUM”. 

36 guides and interpreters from 18 organizations took part in this training and received official credentials and certificates to interpret at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum during 2024.   

Tourism industry guides and interpreters who participated in the training gave lectures based on real artifacts and sources used by the kings and nobles of Mongolia from the Hun Empire to the early 20th century. Explained using the presented brand "ORFEO", interpreter-browser device.

During the training, a special discussion was held, and guides and commentators shared common questions of tourists, exchanged experiences, and also conducted an open interview, asking invited scientists questions on topics of interest to them and received suggestions, which was appreciated by the participants. 

The course was opened by N. Batbold, Doctor of Historical Sciences (Ph.D), head of the research department of the National Museum of Chinggis Khaan, and senior employee of the department J. Erdene, graduate student in archaeological sciences, and the teaching was conducted by Associate Professor L. Erdenebold (Ph.D. ), Professor S. Tsolmon (Ph.D.).

In addition, the training was attended by an instructor for teaching the skills of guides and translators B. Munkhbat and a guide O. Enkhtsolmon on the topics “Methodology of guiding the museum” and “Interpretation in the National Museum of Chinggis Khan”.
