The Chinggis Khaan National Museum, which was established on the initiative of the President of Mongolia, is a modern museum is already recognized at the international level.
Last year, an international exhibition about Chinggis Khaan was held in Nantes, France, and visited more than 250,000 visitors during a period of 6 months. It was a great impact in changing the Western understanding of Chinggis Khaan, increasing interest in visiting Mongolia, and promoting Mongolian heritage and culture in foreign countries.
This time, from July 3rd to August 25th, exhibition will be displayed in the hall of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum in cooperation with five major European museums and archives, the world-famous Louvre Museum, National Archives of France, the National Ceramics Museum of Sèvres, the Museum of Decorative Arts, Rietberg museum of Switzerland and the private collectors Sam and Myrna Myers, including the Swiss Rietberg Museum and the collection of collectors Sam and Myrna Myers.
This shows that Mongolians will have the opportunity to see the rare and precious artifacts related to the Mongolian Empire that are kept in European countries, and the Chinggis Khaan National Museum will be able to host an international exhibition.
The main artifact of this exhibition is a traditional Mongolian script written letter sent by Il Khaan Ulziit to King Philip IV of France in 1305. A letter from Ulziit Khaan, which is coming to Mongolia for the first time after eight centuries, the homeland of his ancestors. It is not only unique in that it fully expresses the incomparable and precious literary heritage of Mongolian Khaans, but also a historical fact, great tradition of statehood, the wonder of traditional Mongolian scripts, and the great peace in Mongolia.
The first major exhibition in the history of the Mongolian museum is being held on the threshold of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the modern museums.
Director of Chinggis Khaan National Museum Academician S. Chuluun introduced that the Museum plans to hold the special exhibition of Chinggis Khaan in March 2025 at the National Museum in Prague of Czech Republic, in October at the Rietberg Museum in Zurich of Switzerland and, and in 2026 at the Berlin History Museum of Germany, later in Canada, United States of America.
