The Great Khan's Palace was inaugurated on July 3, 2019, at the initiative of the current President of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, and by the decision of the then Government, and is being solemnly inaugurated today.

The Golden Statue of Chinggis Khaan symbolizes the moment when Chinggis Khaan, holding the State Seal of Mongolia, proclaimed the establishment of the Great Mongol Empire. This monumental work immortalizes the historical moment when “…the newly carved royal seal was shown to the assembly, and the decree engraved on the seal was read aloud and presented to the Khan…” The statue is a monumental work of art, made in a realistic manner, with symmetrical lines, and consists of the State Seal of the Great Mongol Empire, the royal throne, and golden embellishments on a marble stone base.

The statue of Chinggis Khaan is depicted in a resolute and bold manner, reflecting the time when he founded the Great Mongol Empire, with a confidence in his future great deeds. Chinggis Khaan touched the seal of the Great Mongol Empire with his hand, emphasizing the deeds of the Great Mongol Empire, which is the main theme of the “Chinggis Khaan” sculpture.

Additionally, the Great White Banner is 7 meters 20 centimeters tall, with the tassels made from the tails of swift horses from the 21 provinces. The octagonal base of the banner contains materials from 13 sacred mountains, rivers, and lakes, as well as soil, stones, and precious stones, copper, gold, turquoise, and silver found in the territory of Mongolia, all made according to respect, and ritual.

The Golden Statue of Chinggis Khaan consists of the Great Khan, the seal of the Great Mongol Empire, the throne, and a marble base adorned with golden decorations. Made from gold, bronze, and marble, it is a monumental artwork measuring 700 cm x 630 cm x 750 cm. The Golden Statue was created in the artistic cradle of the world, Florence, Italy, using gold that was discovered in Mongolia.

The Grand Palace of the Great Khaan was created based on historical sources, archaeological findings, and museum exhibits, reflecting the pride, customs, and symbolism of the Mongolian people, and it required a high level of artistry and specialized craftsmanship.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the President of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, who supported the initiative for the creation of the Golden Statue of Chinggis Khaan, the Great White Banner, and the Khaan's Golden Seal, expressed deep gratitude on behalf of all the staff at the National Museum of Chinggis Khaan. We were deeply appreciative of the Bank of Mongolia, the Ministry of Culture, Sport, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia, and all the artists involved for their financial and creative contributions to the statue's creation.
