“MONGOLIAN 13TH-14TH CENTURY TRADIONAL CLOTHES” PAPER DOLL MAKING PROGRAM

This program is being held in the Hall of Great Mongol Empire at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, where visitors can explore and see the preserved clothing artifacts discovered at the Nart Rock burial. The clothing and accessories worn by the Mongols not only represent the social status of the wearer but also reflect intricate symbolic connections through patterns and designs.

The aim is to introduce the traditional techniques and technologies used to make deel during the Mongol Empire and the symbolism of deel/robe patterns. Participants will have the opportunity to create paper dolls by folding pre-prepared paper templates and dressing them in traditional Mongolian garments such as the dragon-patterned silk robe and men’s costume with traditional “ugalz” pattern, which are preserved at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum.
