“CONSTRUCTION OF THE MONGOLIAN EMPIRE'S SIEGE ENGINE: CATAPULT" BUILDING CRAFT PROGRAM

"Hall of the Great Mongol Empire" at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, where visitors can explore the historical significance of the Mongol Empire’s siege weapons, particularly the catapult. The Mongols used siege weapons like the catapult and crossbow to breach city walls and fortifications during their conquests. For younger audiences, the craft activity involves building miniature catapults, which serves as both an educational tool and a fun hands-on experience. Through constructing these models, participants will learn about basic geometric shapes and figures in mathematics, as well as the engineering principles behind the catapults.
