A PHOTO EXHIBITION SHOWING THE HISTORICAL RELATIONS OF THE TWO COUNTRIES HAS OPENED

Hungary and Mongolia established diplomatic relations 75 years ago on April 28, 1950, and diplomatic missions opened in Ulaanbaatar and Budapest in 1957. As part of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, a photo exhibition titled “75 Years of Hungarian-Mongolian Diplomatic Relations,” showcasing the main events in the historical relations between the peoples of the two nations, was opened April 30, 2025, at the “Silver Tree” Hall of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum.

The exhibition, jointly organized by the Embassy of Hungary, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the General Authority for Archives, is being displayed in the “Silver Tree” hall because the French-born craftsman who created the Silver Tree, William of Rubruck, was captured during the Mongol invasion in Fehérvár, Hungary, between 1241 and 1242 and brought to Karakorum. Using the skills he had gained in Hungary and France, he created the Silver Tree.

Last year, the Director of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, Academician S. Chuluun was presented with the certificate and official documents of the honorary member of the Hungarian Ethnographic Society by the Deputy Director of the museum, Veres Gábor.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Hungary to Mongolia, Mrs. Dr. Anna Borbála Obrusánszky, Member of Parliament, Chairman of the Mongolian-Hungarian Parliamentary Group N. Batsumberel, and other invited guests and representatives.
