At the invitation of the President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow is making a state visit to Mongolia on June 1-2, 2025. 

During the visit, the Director of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, Academician S. Chuluun, and the Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Atageldi Shamyradov signed a “Memorandum of Understanding” on mutual cooperation between the Chinggis Khaan National Museum of Mongolia and the National Museum of Turkmenistan at the Government Palace (2025.06.02).

Under the memorandum, the two museums will cooperate in the following areas. These include capacity building in restoration and management of exhibits, preserving and protecting exhibits in their original sustainable condition, organizing seminars and master classes for specialists of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum. Also, organizing an exhibition of Turkmen ethnic art and national heritage-related items at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum to present the material and cultural values and national traditional arts of the Turkmen people. An exhibition related to “Chinggis Khaan” will be organized at the State Museum of the State cultural center of Turkmenistan. Additionally, a joint photographic exhibition about historical and archaeological monuments and valuable items discovered from them will be organized. The museums will publish research-related articles in journals of both countries and organize scientific meetings and educational lectures about the geography, archaeology, and natural monuments of both countries at the State Museum of the State cultural center of Turkmenistan and the Chinggis Khaan National Museum of Mongolia. Scientific councils and public cultural-educational activities in museums will be organized to attract tourists, hold exhibitions, and conduct scientific work.
