Since its establishment, the Chinggis Khaan National Museum has been working in cooperation with and supporting local museums. This time, the Bogd Khanate of the Local Studies Museum in Bayankhangai soum, Tuv aimag, renovated the Memorial Hall of the Battle of the Restoration of Mongolia and handed over wall publications related to historical events (2025.09.04).
During the handover of the hall to the Cultural Center, Sergey Kuzmin, a leading researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of History and Biology, gave a public lecture on the topic “Mongolia and Baron R.F. Ungern”, attended by the soum administration, officials, and high school students.
The lecture provided detailed information about the last battle for Mongolia's independence and freedom, the decisive battle that took place from March 31 to April 2, 1921, at Talin Ulaan Khad and Khaliun Tolgoi in Bayankhangai soum, Tuv aimag.
During this event, Dr. G. Byambaragchaa, Head of the Research and Archives Department of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, emphasized the importance of studying our history and culture and presented samples of books and magazines published by the Chinggis Khaan National Museum to the soum’s public library.
A guided excursion was organized for the staff of the soum museum at Taliin Ulaan Khad and Khaliun Tolgoi, the sites of the historic battle, where explanations about the events were provided.
On this occasion, the soum governor L. Bolortuya emphasized, “We learned that the final decisive battle for Mongolia’s freedom and independence took place in our soum. This has been an important impetus for local residents and children and youth to be proud of their history and to study it thoroughly.”
