DAUGHTER OF RENOWNED SCHOLAR TSENDIIN DAMDINSUREN DONATED “GOLD TARA ( VASUDHARA )” TO THE CHINGGIS KHAAN NATIONAL MUSEUM

The family of Ts. Damdinsuren, a three-time recipient of the State Award of Mongolia, an academician, and a distinguished scholar, has donated the “Lhamo Norjunma Buddha,” which is believed to be the original design of the Great Zanabazar, to the Chinggis Khaan National Museum. The donation was made on September 18, 2025, by his daughter, Mongolian scholar and Ph.D. Anna Tsendina Damdinova.

This marked a significant milestone in the history of the museum, as a rare work that had become a valuable heritage of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, previously associated with the activities of the great scholar, was respectfully received by the director of the Chinggis Khaan Museum, Academician S. Chuluun.

Mongolian scholar and Ph.D. Anna Tsendina Damdinova, together with senior scholar and her last student R. Otgonbaatar, shared interesting memories and stories about the work of the eminent scholar Ts. Damdinsuren while discussing this Buddha sculpture.

The event was attended by distinguished guests including Academician D. Tumurtogoo, former Vice President of the Academy of Sciences Academician T. Dorj, Vice President of the Academy of Sciences Academician Ts. Tserendorj, Director of the Institute of History and Ethnology of the Academy of Sciences, Doctor (Ph.D), Associate Professor L. Erdenebold, Director of the Institute of Archeology of the Academy of Sciences, Doctor (Ph.D), Professor G. Eregzen, Director of the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences Doctor (Ph.D), Professor B. Purevsuren, Director of the Institute of Linguistics of the Academy of Sciences Doctor (Ph.D), Associate Professor O. Shinebayar, Lecturer of the National University of Mongolia, Doctor (Ph.D), Professor B. Tuvshintugs, and senior scientist R. Otgonbaatar.
