THE BUST OF DUKE TSEND BAVUUDAIN, “BODLOGOT BAATAR”, DONATED TO THE MUSEUM RESEARCH LIBRARY

The year 2025 marks 150th anniversary of the birth of Tsend Bavuudain who greatly devoted to the development of Mongolian sovereignty, policy and literacy culture in the 20th century. 

In the framework of the anniversary, Bust of Duke Tsend“Bodlogot Baatar”, the wise minister of the Mongol State and the first translator into the Mongolian language and script the “Secret history of the Mongols” from Chinese donated to the research library hall co-organized by “Bodlogot Baatar, Duke Tsend” NPO and the Chinggis khaan National museum (2025.09.26). 

During the ceremony, Myagmarsambuu.G, PhD launched book opening ceremony and introduced a book named Duke Tsend “Bodlogot Baatar”, the wise minister of the Mongol State translated in English and Mongolia. Duke Tsend was third son of Bavuudai, herders, and was born in a place named Mekheert in the Straight white banner county of east Solon in Khulunbuir aimag (province). From his young age, he learned excellently Mongol, Manchuand Chinese literacy and actively participated in political operations and studied culture and history of Mongols. In 1912, he was rewarded as a title of Bodlogot Baatar by the decree of Bogd khan. 

“Duke Tsend “Bodlogot Baatar” NPO was established in 2016 aimed to support and research Mongolian history, tradition and cultural heritage. The award is named after Duke Tsend has been awarded prominent scholars who contribute the study of Secret history of the Mongols and Mongolian history, tradition and cultural heritage. 

This year, for the first time, Chuluun Sampildondov, Director of the Chinggis khaan National museum and Nachin.D, Head of Duke Tsend “Bodlogot Baatar” NPO bestowed Duke Tsend Certificate and Award to the Mongolian Science Academy of History and Ethnography in recognition of highly professional academic research onhistory and ethnology related to the Secret history of the Mongols, publication of science papers and a comprehensive dictionary, promotion of the Secret history of the Mongols worldwide and its contribution to trainingyoung scholars.

Nachin.D, Head of “Bodlogot Baatar Duke Tsend” NPO and Myagmarsambuu.G, PhD were awarded the Certificate of Chinggis khaan National museum for their valuable contribution to enriching the museum library through the donation of research papers.
