In accordance with the 2019 resolution of the Government of Mongolia, the construction of the new building of the Natural History Museum began. Once the new museum is completed and operational, it will expand into a major complex that meets international standards preserving valuable natural science, historical, and cultural heritage, as well as serving as a unified center for scientific research and studies.

The museum's management and exhibition team met with the heads of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, to exchange experiences, and got acquainted with the museum's collection storage and restoration laboratory operations. (2025.10.09).

During the meeting, the participants emphasized the importance of planning for the museum’s collection capacity for the next 50-70 years, prioritizing ventilation, heating, lighting, and ensuring that organizational planning remains a top priority in the museum’s establishment process.
