One of the two major routes that connected Eurasia was the Tea Road. In recent years, this topic has been studied as a “cultural route” and a “socio-economic network,” continuing to attract international attention.
A scientific discussion on the topic "Mongolia and the History of the Tea Road" was organized to discuss the historical development stages of the tea route in Mongolia, the organization of trade, cultural exchange, economic role, and geopolitical importance on a scientific basis, and to expand collaboration among researchers. (2025.10.31) At the discussion, the Director of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum and Academician S. Chuluun participated online and stated: “The study of the Tea Road has been studied for many years in the historical tradition of Mongolia-China and Mongolia-Russia trade and economic relations. Basically, it is called the Tea Road, but it is a major trade route connecting three countries. To clearly understand Mongolia’s role and position in Russian and Chinese economic cooperation, one need to look at the trade policies and activities of the Tea Road. Its form may differ, but its essence remains the same.”
The discussion was jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth, the Institute of History and Ethnology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, and the Mongolian Tea Road Research Society.
