UNESCO RECORDED “CULTURAL HERITAGE CERTIFICATE” PRESENTED TO CHINGGIS KHAAN NATIONAL MUSEUM

On the first day of the winter month, marking the 863rd anniversary of the birth of Lord Chinggis Khaan on National Pride Day, the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Arts and Youth Policy presented the UNESCO-registered Cultural Heritage Certificates of Mongolia to the Chinggis Khaan National Museum on November 21, 2025.

Mongolia has successfully registered five valuable historical and cultural heritage sites on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Memory of the World Programme. These include:

• The Deer Stone Statue and related Bronze Age monuments have been registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List;

• The Certificate for registering the celebration of “Nauryz” in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity;

• The Certificate for registering the “Khuis Tolgoi Inscription” in the UNESCO International Register of the Memory of the World Programme.

• The Certificate for registering the “Record of Each Figure Established from Above” in the UNESCO International Register of the Memory of the World Programme;

• Full Human Body Register Manuscript, a work significant for its use as an advanced reference combining traditional Mongolian medicine and European medical knowledge.

Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Ch. Undram formally presented these five certificates deposited at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum to T. Enkhtungalag, Head of the Museum’s Administration and Financial Cooperation Center.
