
The fifth International Mongolian Studies Conference "Mongolia and Mongols: Past and Present", organized every two years by the Faculty of Asian and African Studies of the University of Warsaw, Poland, is continuing these days.
The conference is co-organized by the Department of Asian and African Cultures of the University of Warsaw, the Embassy of Mongolia in Poland, and the National University of Mongolia. Around 70 scholars of Mongolian studies from more than 10 countries, including France, Austria, Hungary, Germany, the United Kingdom, Mongolia, the People's Republic of China, the Czech Republic, Brussels, and Estonia, are participating in the conference.
The main papers of the Mongolian Studies Conference were presented in person by the Director of the Chinggus Khaan National Museum, Academician S. Chuluun, and Researcher G. Uranbayar, and Dr. M. Nyambat participated online and delivered his presentation(2025.12.08).
Academician S. Chuluun introduced rare 17th century letters written in the Tod script, preserved in the Archives of the Academy of Skills and Sciences in Krakow, Poland. These include previously unstudied letters from Galdan Boshigt Khan to the Russian Tsar. He presented them to scholarly circulation for the first time, along with his comparative research using documents from Russian archives.
Also, museum researcher G. Uranbayar presented a paper on the dignity and noble existence of Mongolian queens during the Mongol Empire.
During this time, S. Chuluun, Director of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, together with N. Oyundari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Poland, met with the leaders of the Polish History Museum to discuss organizing a Chinggis Khaan exhibition in Warsaw in 2027. He also held official meetings with the directors of the Museum of Asia and Africa.
