
The state visit of the President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh to the Republic of Kazakhstan is currently ongoing in the city of Astana. The state visit includes S.Chuluun, Director of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, and a “Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation” was signed on April 21, 2026 between the Chinggis Khaan National Museum of Mongolia and the Ch.Ch.Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnography of the Scientific Committee under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
With the signing of this memorandum, both sides agreed to intensify research on nomadic history, clarify similarities and multi-period political, social, and cultural relations, and begin joint scholarly works.
Also, the history of the Turks and Uyghurs is being studied based on the collections of the Genghis Khan National Museum, and the museum's researchers have the opportunity to study historical and cultural monuments in the territory of Kazakhstan. The institute was founded in 1945 in Almaty, is the leading research institution in the field of historical sciences in Kazakhstan. Today, it conducts fundamental research on Kazakhstan’s history, the ethnocultural development of the Kazakh people, anthropology, source studies, and many other topics.
