“LET’S RESPECT VISITORS’ INDIVIDUALITY” TRAINING HELD

The world has observed April every year as Autism Awareness Month and has been drawing attention to autism.

On the occasion of Autism Awareness Month, the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, in collaboration with the Mongolian Autism Association, organized the “Let’s respect visitors’ individuality” training on March 24, 2026 for museum staff.

The training provided basic knowledge about autism and provided methodological guidance on how to welcome and serve autistic children in the museum environment, communicate warmly and positively, and provide appropriate support. This contributes to improving the inclusiveness of museum services and creating a welcoming environment for visitors of all ages, including those with special needs.

In Mongolia, the number of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder has been steadily increasing in recent years. As of the end of 2024, a total of 2395 children were diagnosed with autism, of which 1765 were in the capital and 630 in rural areas.
