MUSEUM DIGITALIZATION PROJECT WORKING GROUP MEETS

A new project titled "Development of Museum Digital Content and Strengthening Operational Capacity" has officially commenced at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum with grant assistance from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) of the Republic of Korea.

On July 1, 2026, the South Korean project working group visited the museum to exchange views on the implementation plan and project timeline.

Participants included O. Mendsaikhan, Policy Specialist for Cultural Heritage Protection and Development at the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth, T. Enkhtungalag, Head of the Museum's Center for International Relations and Cooperation, Kim Seong-ae, Deputy Country Director of KOICA Mongolia, Kim Young-sang, Vice President of the project team and other representatives.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to establish the project's Steering Committee in September, provide capacity-building training for museum staff in Mongolia in September and in South Korea in October, and conduct a needs assessment to supply equipment based on the museum's operational requirements.

This is the first major cultural development project in Mongolia's museum sector to be implemented with grant assistance from KOICA, representing a significant milestone for the country's cultural heritage and museum development.
