The exhibition "Embracing the Infinite: Giuseppe Tucci’s Eternal Quest" opened at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum on 27 July.

The exhibition is an initiative of the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing and is co-organized by the University of Macerata and ISMEO – The International Association for Mediterranean and Oriental Studies.

It is presented in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Mongolia, the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, Arte Nomade, Archivio Storico Luce - Cinecittà, and the Museum of Civilizations in Rome.

The exhibition is dedicated to the life and scholarly achievements of Giuseppe Tucci (1894–1984), one of Italy’s foremost Orientalists and a pioneering scholar of Asian studies.

Through a rich collection of historical photographs, archival documents, reproductions of Buddhist thangka paintings, and rare archival footage, the exhibition retraces Tucci’s groundbreaking scientific expeditions across Asia. It also highlights the deep academic ties he established with Mongolia through his pioneering research on Tibetan Buddhism

As part of the exhibition, an academic symposium will explore Giuseppe Tucci’s research related to Mongolia and examine how his work has contributed to strengthening cultural and scholarly cooperation between Italy and Mongolia.
